After a home poker cash game, each player has put in a number of buy-ins and finished with a pile of chips. This calculator turns those numbers into the shortest list of payments that settles the night. It computes each player's net in chips (final chips minus the chips they bought), converts that to money using your buy-in value, and then matches the biggest losers to the biggest winners so there are as few payments as possible.
How to use it
- Set your buy-in amount, chips per buy-in, and currency.
- Add each player, their number of buy-ins, and final chip count.
- Read off who pays whom. If the chip counts don't match the buy-ins, you'll get a heads-up to recount.
Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate who owes who in poker?
Each player's net is their final chip count minus what they bought in. Winners are owed money, losers owe it. The calculator pairs them up to minimize the number of transfers.
Is it free?
Yes — it's completely free and needs no sign-up. For live scoring across everyone's phones and automatic settlements, the Poker Night app does it for you during the game.
